Christmas Holiday Walk 2013
As part of a Christmas tradition that our club members and visitors alike look forward to year after year where the holiday spirit is irresistible is our Annual Christmas Holiday Walk.
Each year on Christmas morning our members meet at the Vanderbilt Beach parking garage to walk along Vanderbilt Beach Road and then we delight in seeing and enjoying a real treat by treking to the Ritz (Carlton Naples Beach Resort) which is transformed into an old-fashioned winter wonderland. Decorations abound throughout the hotel and one of the most beautiful and amazing traditional holiday sights and the piece de resistance is the handmade gingerbread house as part of its bonanza holiday decorations.
For the past 13 years, the Ritz Naples pastry team has built an 11-foot-high cottage using 48 pounds of ginger; 756 pounds of flour; 1,200 gingerbread bricks; 48 pounds of ginger; 60,000 pieces of candy; and 1,000 hours to make it all happen. Talk about a sugar rush!! In case you were wondering, the house is not edible!!
All the holiday decorations and lights transport you to a sparkling holiday wonderland which leaves such a lasting impression of the Spirit of Christmas.
