Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary Date Update

Our February date for visiting Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is no longer available due to staffing issues. We are now scheduled for Saturday, January 21st at 9:00 for the 3-hour tour (cost $25 including admission) which will be a customized tour by naturalist Sally Stein. The tour will take us both on and off the boardwalk and into the pine flatwoods and bald cypress forest.

Some of you may be familiar with the sanctuary ( http://corkscrew.audubon.org/visit ). It has a 2.25 mile boardwalk through pine flatwoods, wet prairie, marshland, and a bald cypress forest, and it home to numerous birds including the wood stork, deer, and a variety of other wildlife). The Sanctuary is off Immokalee Road near Orange Tree. For those who are interested we could stop for lunch on our way back at a nice little Italian restaurant at Immokalee and Randall.

We need a minimum of 10 to have the customized tour. If we do not get 10 attendees then we would do the 10:30 tour on January 21st which would be 90 minutes on the boardwalk (cost $14 including admission).

Please let Carol know asap if you will do the 3-hour tour so that we can confirm the customized tour.
